CCTV Cameras and Lighting.

CCTV cameras
At time of writing, the cameras are not very good.

All cameras have infra red capability.

There are four positioned on top of the pyramid, one in each corner, normally pointing at 45° and looking into the distance rather than at close range (e.g. the fence line).

If you are facing the main entrance, looking at the fence, there are two CCTV cameras up the track to your left, looking along the fence line.

There are also two cameras looking at the main gate.

Looking north from the SW corner of the fence line, there is a CCTV camera which normally points south at the Bridleway going along the back (south) of the base.

West of the south east corner of the fence (see top photograph) is a CCTV camera, set back from the fence and covering the area between the fence and Satcom (giant golf ball).

There is a camera on the building next to SATCOM looking at the Milstar (see 2nd photograph), but it has no infra red.

These are the cameras of which we are currently aware. They are planning to erect more.

However, a camera is only as good as its operator and you can see which direction it is pointing in.

Lighting.

Fylingdales is not brightly lit. The south side of the base has the most lighting, most of it being normal street lights, except around Satcom and the Pyramid, where they use security lighting. The main gate is lit up.

There are lots of dark corners.
